Though we are third and fourth generation missionaries we never wanted to be missionaries – until we did the “Experiencing God” devotional by Henry Blackaby. This devotional, along with many other “nudgings” from the Holy Spirit convinced us that we had not surrendered this portion of our lives to God. Understanding better God’s plan for our lives we pursued missions, out of faith and obedience, and, after two years of learning French and Chadian Arabic, landed in Chad in 2006.
Scott was born and grew up in Zaire (now DR Congo), graduated with a construction management degree from John Brown University (JBU) in 1996, married Susan in 1997 and worked in commercial construction for seven years before joining TEAM. Scott and Suz went to first grade together and our parents served on the same mission field throughout our school years.
Scott loves his Savior, his family, motorcycles, hunting, construction and good food.
Married to the best woman in the world to me – Susan. Father of four remarkable girls – Audrey (12), Selah (10), Mahlia (8) and Shiloh (3) and a terrific son – Micah (6).
Our ministry focus is driven by our vision, which is to establish an indigenous, culturally sensitive, reproducing body of believers.
This ministry of bringing Living Water to the region involves loving our neighbors and sharing with them the blessing and hope that we have found, living out, by God?s grace, a family model that draws people to Himself, coordinating short-term medical teams, supporting a private school where the character of God is being taught and by drilling water wells and teaching health/hygiene in villages and by drinking lots of strong tea with men. Our desire is to see a CHE (Community Health Education) program take root to enhance this ministry.
Primary Prayer Request:
That the Word of the Lord would spread rapidly and be glorified.
