Murray and Kathy Trim met at Bible college and moved to Japan in 1988. After language school, the Lord used them to start the Suzaka Bible Church. The church has had a part in more than thirty Japanese placing their faith in Christ since it began in the Trims’ living room in 1990. A building was completed in 1997. It includes an apartment where a Japanese pastor and his family now reside. Attendance is around 45 most Sundays.
In 1999, the Trims moved to Kobe, an urban area with a population of 1.3 million people. God led them to work with a small group of believers at the Agape Bible Church, which had been through difficult times. Despite most of those folks moving away over the years, God has blessed and the group has now grown to about 15 who meet each week. The ministry of Agape has seen numerous short-term missionary workers assist in an extensive English program used to draw new contacts into the church.
