Jacob and Sara Tibbe
This journey has been a decade-long work by God, beginning with a short-term trip to Thailand in 2005. Jake spent 15 years working as a retail pharmacist, and Sara spent 10 years teaching and 4 years working on-staff at our local church writing curriculum for the children's ministry. God used short-term opportunities, educational opportunities and ministry with International Students to move us from our careers to full-time, cross cultural ministry. We are excited to serve with our children, Luke and Anna, and we pray our family can be a light in our new community.
Luke (2008) and Anna (2010)
Our family is in Salatiga (Central Java) Indonesia until May 2017 learning language and culture. Upon completion, we expect to depart for Manokwari, Papua, to come behind the local church and to serve at the Well of Joy Community Center.
Manokwari, West Papua is a multi-cultural city with about half the population consisting of Papuans and the other half of various people groups from Indonesia's "Majority Tribe." We are praying we have opportunities through the Community Center outreach to meet the needs of those in the "Majority Tribe," form relationships, and communicate Truth.
Primary Prayer Request:
That God would be glorified in and through us as we serve Him in Indonesia.
