I grew up in a Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Ohio and was exposed to missions from an early age. My summers were spent at a Christian sports camp (Summer’s Best Two Weeks) in the beautiful countryside of Pennsylvania. These two experiences played a tremendous role in my spiritual life and walk with Christ. As a result I developed a heart for the global Body of Christ and nothing has taught me more about being a follower of Christ than sports and camping ministry. Little did I know these two experiences I had as a child and into my college years would now be coming full circle as my family and I have recently entered the international mission field to work at Rancho el Camino and assist in the planting of a church and the development of a community center.
I met my wife at Wheaton College on the swim team. Currently, we have three beautiful girls who keep us very busy. When we aren’t busy taking care of our girls we enjoy reading, playing games, and being active in the outdoors.
I have worked in various roles over the years but all have been in the area of youth and families. In the past I have worked as an in-home counselor for at-risk youth, a camp counselor, and wilderness guide; but the primary job and greatest passion of mine was working as a pastor to youth for 8 years in Norfolk, VA. In all my experiences in working with families and teens I can think of nothing more beautiful and healing than seeing the body of Christ in action. It is now an honor and privilege to have a front row seat to the body of Christ in Mexico and to continue to use my heart, passions, and hobbies for the glory of God.
I graduated from Wheaton College in ’03 with a BA in Christian Formation & Ministry with Minors in Environmental Science and Bible. I received a MA in Counseling from Regent University in ’08 and hold a current certification as a Nationally Certified Counselor with the National Board for Certified Counselors.
