My Story

I was raised on the Amazon River in Brazil where my parents worked as missionaries. While in 6th grade, I sensed God telling me that He has a purpose for my life, that of talking about Jesus. I learned Portuguese and then began to be involved in teaching and evangelism. After high school I went to Seattle Pacific College where I got a degree in nursing. While involved with a local church, I met and married my husband, Clark, in 1976. A year later, he felt that God was leading us into missions so we moved to Portland, Oregon to begin the first step of training at Multnomah School of the Bible. In 1981, we attended candidate school with TEAM, originally appointed to go to Mexico. Our direction changed in 1985 when TEAM asked us to consider coming to Portugal. We have been involved in church planting and development in Ermesinde, a city in northern Portugal since 1989.

Title:

Missionary, teaching, social services, counseling, teacher of Freedom in Christ

Family:

Husband, Clark, Children: Anna, Ben, and Cameron, all living in the US

Ministry Focus:

Currently, my ministry focus is counseling, social services and teaching Freedom in Christ discipleship courses. I am hoping to soon start up a ministry of support groups.

Primary Prayer Request:

In first place, pray that my life would powerfully and winsomely imitate Jesus. In second place, pray the God would raise up some other believers to develop the ministry of counseling and support groups. Portugal is in a time of crisis and people do not have the spiritual or emotional resources to deal with life. We want to be able to expand our services and be instruments of healing and emotional health both within the church and within our community.
