Mary Davis

My Story

I first felt called to be a missionary as a small girl in Fitchburg, MA listening to missionaries tell their stories at Highland Baptist Church where my dad, Joe Bubar, was the pastor. Most of my growing up years were in Addison, IL

I graduated from Gordon College in 1967, attended Wheaton College for a year and Moody Bible Institute where I met my husband, David. We followed God’s call on our lives to go to South Asia with TEAM and served there from 1971-1989. At that point David was asked to be a Regional Director for TEAM which brought us back to Carol Stream, IL. I was able to teach Middle School science in the Wheaton Public School system until 2014. We were able to return to South Asia in 2007-2008 for one more year of ministry. I was able to squeeze in my MA in Education while teaching and was able to travel to many of the countries my husband oversaw for TEAM.

God gave us a wonderful son, Jonathan and a beautiful daughter-in- law, Jennifer. We now have three grandchildren, Megumi, Daniel, and Emily. They serve with World Venture in Uganda.

TEAM asked me to become an Appointee Mentor in 2014. Being able to use my teaching skills and experience to mentor appointees preparing to go to the mission field has been a joy.
