Job Opening - Donor Relations Manager

Overview

The Donor Relations Manager works with the Regional Director and other staff members to build and nurture mutually beneficial relationships with donors through various direct response strategies, managing and operating a telephone call center, leading the donor stewardship process, and maintaing an accurate donor database and data management system.  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the Advancement leadership team and in close working
    relationship to the Regional Director to enhance the overall development work of
    TEAM
  • Manage a team of individuals in various donor relations support functions
  • Manage TEAM's direct response program and staffing by working closely with the Regional Director
    and Marketing department to develop the strategy and content for
    TEAM's direct response efforts at donor solicitation. This includes design, method of
    delivery, content, and evaluation/reporting processes.
  •  Manage the TEAM Donor Relations Call Center, a team of call center staff who handle all
    inbound calls to the organization. Serve on the call center team as appropriate
  •  Develop all the standard processes and procedures for appropriate telephony engagement of
    all external stakeholders
  •  Manage and maintain all tools and training to allow for efficient and timely access to
    donor/prospect information for call center staff
  • Practice, promote and train toward good customer service throughout the donor/prospect
    management processes
  • Develop and implement appropriate outbound call strategies around donor stewardship and
    prospect solicitation
  • Process contributions in a timely and efficient manner, honoring donor intent and following
    all laws and regulations applicable to the contributions
  • Create and manage the donor stewardship process to express appropriate gratitude to all
    donors and supporters of TEAM's work and ministry
  • Send appropriate acknowledgments and receipts for all contributions to TEAM
  •  Manage donor recognition processes in collaboration with other members of the Ministry
    Advancement team
  •  Implement and manage appropriate hardware and software systems to maintain accurate data
    on all donors, prospects, organizations, churches, and other internal and external constituents
  • Develop and manage accurate and efficient systems for the standard use of all constituent
    data management within TEAM
  •  Provide training and support for Ministry Advancement staff in their understanding and use
    of all data management tools
  •  Develop and create the appropriate reporting processes for fund development
  • Work closely with the Marketing department to lead and develop TEAM's direct response
    efforts at donor solicitation. This includes planning, design, delivery channel, content, and
    evaluation/reporting processes.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Spiritually mature with a growing walk with Jesus Christ
  • A team player with a positive attitude, and passionate about serving God and others
  • A minimum of 3 years’ in a management role, accountable for the output of a team
  • Experience in the customer relations field is required; call center experience is a plus
  • Effective communicator in person, in writing and on the phone.  English proficiency required; additional language competencies is a plus
  • Experience that demonstrates an understanding of the nonprofit fund development environment, particularly in a Christian context
  • Understanding of and experience in the data management systems around nonprofit giving
  • Working knowledge of the various forms of direct response communication with donors and prospects, including but not limited to direct mail, social media, email blasts, online giving platforms, and telephone solicitations
  • Basic understanding of telephone/communications systems, both hardware and software
  • Familiarity with and commitment to missions and mission activities
  • Good project management and time management skills
  • Collaborative, flexible, good relational skills
