Job Opening- Multimedia Video Producer

OVERVIEW:

The Multimedia Video Producer will plan and facilitate video production, to include story planning and gathering, filming, editing, sound mixing, design, and output, to help promote the heart, vision, opportunities, and purpose of TEAM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Work in collaboration with Marketing and other TEAM staff to produce high quality, story-based video projects
  • Work with other technical and non-technical staff to organize and implement videotaping of instructional or other educational related projects
  • Work with traveling team to plan and participate in story-gathering trips
  • In cooperation with other staff, coordinate pre-production and production planning activities
  • Conduct on-site video production, interacting with story subjects and effectively gathering story assets while developing rapport/trust with story subjects
  • Gather and prepare “B-roll” footage for inclusion in productions
  • Plan and perform video post-production tasks, to include reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, and final editing
  • Utilize computer graphics and special effects for video post-production
  • Capture recorded video using software and encode media as appropriate
  • Remain current on the developments and applications of video production technology
  • Make recommendations to the department for software and equipment purchases 

KEY SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated storytelling abilities; understanding the effectiveness and appropriateness of story assets (text, images, audio, video) and how to combine them.
  •  Ability to effectively storyboard
  • Solid understanding of story fundamentals (effective character, trajectory, hook and authenticity/details) with a keen sense of newsworthiness (what makes a story interesting from the audience’s perspective)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain analog and digital video cameras and video editing equipment 
  • Ability to effectively set up and adjust lighting equipment including fixed and portable tungsten lights
  • Creatively plan and translate abstract concepts into effective visual form
  • Work with staff and talent to be comfortable in front of the camera
  • Provide limited troubleshooting of video, audio and lighting equipment
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance 
  • Meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Professional experience with Adobe software and other department software resources
  • 3 to 5 years in a video content management (or related) role preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in video production or related field
