May Prayer Focus: Seasons of Missional Life

Ladies having tea on the floor.
From MK’s and new appointees to seasoned workers and retirees, global workers in all seasons of life need our prayers.

The mission of Matthew 28 is carried out daily by our global workers around the world. Some enter the mission field as a single person, some as a family, and some even venture out after retirement. Some embark from western nations like the US or Canada, while others are called from South America, Asia, and other parts of the globe to bring the Gospel to the least reached. Regardless of their background or stage of life, they are lifelong learners in need of our daily prayers. The journey of cross-cultural missions is great, but it can also be greatly heavy….

How to Pray for 1.1 Billion Followers of Hinduism

Bells have symbolic meaning in Hinduism. The curved body of the bell represents Ananta. The clapper or tongue of the bell represents Saraswati, who is the goddess of wisdom and knowledge.

But thankfully, this recipe can be made with mango pulp out of a can from your local Asian market. Some say it’s even better than the mango chunks because your lassi will have a better…

TEAM Eats: Recipe for Savory Thai Peanut Noodles

Savory thai peanut noodles
Growing up in Southeast Asia gave missionary kid Emily Sheddan a long-lasting love for all things noodles and rice. She shares her recipe for delicious Savory Thai Peanut Noodles to share with your family, too.

If it’s anything noodles or rice, count me in. From the age of six, I’ve been told I can amazingly put away the food like a large Asian man. I love all of it and all of the strong flavors that come along with it like sesame, curries, ginger and garlic. Memories flood my mind of hawker stall delicacies from growing up in Southeast Asia. It wouldn’t matter if these were some of the dirtiest places to grab a plate of food either. What mattered and made people always come back was all the delicious choices from fried rice (nasi goreng)…

Two Traits You Need on a Short-Term Mission Trip

Two qualities every person should take along on their short-term mission trip.

Whether it’s your first short-term mission trip or your 10th, making a packing list is probably on your mind.  In fact, your team leader may even hand you a list with specific details about the weather, appropriate dress, evangelistic materials to disperse or even the much-appreciated advice to throw in some granola bars, just in case.  None of what you pack in your duffle, however, is going to make or break your trip. You are not a tourist but an advocate for God and His love. The most important part of your preparation will be all about the heart. This leads us…
