Two years ago, we braced ourselves for a pandemic that rocked the world and called the Church to prayer. Today, we have a new reason to go to our knees, this time in intercession for the nation and people of Ukraine. The Russian invasion which began Thursday, February 24 is the most aggressive act of war in Europe since World War II. It’s the news no parent ever wants to hear: “Your child is sick.” Joram and Ousa were living in a foriegn country — the violence in Syria forced them to flee as refugees to Jordan. When Haruto* went with his son to a Christmas event in their home city of Tokyo, he didn’t expect it to be life-changing. The event was actually a kids’ Christmas outreach hosted by TEAM missionaries at Christian Academy in Japan every year. The evening usually starts with a craft, a fun activity and some caroling.
