As critical needs grow in the global refugee crisis, TEAM missionaries continue to partner with the local church to welcome the nations arriving on their doorstep. This month we are sharing these testimonies and hope you will follow along on TEAM’s social media and blog. Today, we begin seven days of dedicated prayer for global refugees and the missionaries among them. We invite you to join us and have created a daily prayer guide available for download below. DAY 1: Germany is expected to receive more migrants than any other country in the European Union (Source). In Dresden, a TEAM missionary partners with a local…Read More
The global refugee crisis presents new opportunities for Christians to share the gospel in word and deed. As critical needs grow, TEAM missionaries continue to partner with the local church to welcome the nations arriving on their doorstep. This month we are sharing these testimonies and hope you will follow along on TEAM’s social media and blog. Today, Jeff Ingram, worker in Germany, gives his first-hand account of an event that made headlines earlier this year and shares how God has continued to involve his family in refugee ministry. One Monday evening in January 2015, my wife and I went mattress shopping in downtown Dresden….Read More
TEAM missionaries in Europe have long felt the effects of these migration trends in their ministries and daily lives. As critical needs grow, workers continue to respond to this changing landscape through the local church. Today on the blog, we welcome Doug Anderson, TEAM’s former associate director, who offers us a biblical foundation for loving the stranger. We’ve seen the frightening images of tsunamis propelling an avalanche of water ashore. We’re all familiar with the rush of water down a swollen river, bringing with it trees and debris, sometimes even homes. What emotions well up in you as you imagine…Read More
Today we welcome a long-term worker in South Asia to the TEAM blog. After decades on the field, she shares with us a poignant reflection of her ministry among Muslims. Because of governmental opposition to the gospel and gospel workers in her region, her identity will remain anonymous. Before I left to serve overseas, I had a litany of worries. What if the language is too hard to learn? What if I’m lonely? Will I be able to adjust to the conservative culture of South Asia? Will I be able to make friends? Will I be able to lead someone into God’s kingdom?…Read More
Water. We swim in it, drink it, cook with it – and for the pure joy of it we turn on the sprinkler and run through it. A lack of clean water can have huge implications for a community – and they go way beyond thirst. The lack of sanitation cuts lives short and the trek to collect water can steal a person’s most productive hours – keeping generations ill, undereducated, and impoverished. The answer, it would seem, is to access the water that is already there: drill a well. While well drilling projects are becoming popular and are transforming…Read More
Massive. Diverse. Ready. The country of Chad is often called the last frontier of Africa. Landlocked in the northern region of Central Africa, Chad faces many challenges, but the opportunities for outreach and community development are immeasurable. The country encompasses over 130 ethnic groups – each with its own language, culture, and need to hear the gospel in unique way. By building deep, long-term relationships, TEAM missionaries are transforming lives and growing the church in Chad through programs for education, agriculture, clean water, healthcare, social justice and more.
Chad is one of the poorest, most troubled countries on the continent of Africa. This challenging and diverse country also presents one of the greatest opportunities for outreach. You can make a difference right now, right where you are. We encourage you to pray for Chad and the TEAM missionaries who are sharing the love of Jesus to this predominately Muslim nation. Pray also for more “people of peace” – men and women who are open and accepting of the ministry efforts of TEAM missionaries.

Imagine that you and your family’s native language is English — in fact, it’s the only language you speak. It’s the only language spoken in your entire neighborhood, the neighborhood you grew up in and your parents grew up in before you. It’s the beginning of the school year, and you drop your child off at your local public elementary for her first day of school. All the signs welcoming her are in Japanese. So is all the class instruction. Everything, in fact, is in Japanese. As she learns about colors and exotic animals in other parts of the world,…Read More
We asked Dave Davis, one of TEAM’s experts on the Muslim world, to share his thoughts on the importance of community development in missions, especially in Muslim contexts. This column appears in the summer 2014 issue of Horizons magazine, which hits mailboxes starting next week. We talk a lot about holistic outreach and cooperating agencies. But is it just different, or is it better? The answer is yes! That South Asian mountain village will never be the same. They now have an eight-foot-wide road to their village, which should help them rebuild their earthquake-destroyed homes. How do I know? I measured…Read More
Every family has unique Christmas traditions. For TEAM families working in Muslim-majority countries, Christmas in not just a time to gather with loved ones, but also to welcome friends who often don’t understand the true meaning of the holiday. We talked with six TEAM workers serving in Muslim contexts about how they use their celebrations to open doors. Since every country is different, their experiences might not reflect what happens in other regions of the Muslim world, or even on the other side of town. But their insights can help us see Christmas from a slightly different angle this year….Read More
