ANESU

Our Story

In 2009, we sensed God leading us to establish a strategic initiative in response to the effects of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Mozambique and Zimbabwe. That vision has grown to include a response to the effects of poverty in general. With a focus on discipleship and sustainable solutions, ANESU partners with local churches and with ministries like HANDS OF HOPEand FOUNDATIONS FOR FARMING, in living out the gospel of Christ through orphan care, sustainable agriculture, community health, microfinance, and all that is entailed in integral mission.

The ANESU Commitment

CONTRIBUTE to a holistic response to poverty.
ENGAGE with local churches in Mozambique and Zimbabwe as they respond to the many needs and opportunities around them.
DISCOVER the resilience and creativity of people living in poverty and learn from them.
KEEP discipleship at the core of all we do, pointing people to Jesus – addressing physical, emotional and social needs, as well as spiritual need as an integral part of proclaiming the Gospel of Christ.
WORK to continually challenge the church, not just to preach the Gospel with words, but to live out the Gospel in all areas of life.
PROMOTE and engage in compassion ministries and sustainable development where there is poverty, dependence, brokenness and pain.
FACILITATE the involvement of overseas churches in what God is doing through the Zimbabwean and Mozambican church in ways that compliment and encourage.
SEEK local solutions and facilitate local responses so that what is done is practical, relevant and sustainable.

Hands of Hope

Hands of Hope is a non-profit organization which cares for orphans and children at risk in Zimbabwe, through local, church based, Houses of Hope and through a camping and skills training program called, Habitation of Hope.

Habitation of Hope

Habitation of Hope is a beautiful 135-acre camp located a few miles from the city of Harare. Habitation of Hope offers a family friendly facility for hosting children’s and family camps as well as an aquaponics project, several green houses, maize fields, a chicken project and a newly developing Moringa Tree project.  Using these various projects, Hands of Hope provides an apprenticeship program that offers a variety of skills to older orphans who have aged out of the Hands of Hope homes. They are currently offering training in plumbing, electrical work, welding, fish farming, and agriculture, coupled with intentional bible study and discipleship.   At the same time, these various projects help to provide income for the running of the ministry which will serve as a self-sufficient model for conservation farming for their community.   TEAM missionaries, Steve and Anthea Love have been seconded by TEAM to Hands of Hope.

Foundations for Farming

Foundations for Farming is an initiative aimed at bringing transformation to individuals, communities, and nations, through faithful and productive use of land.  Using a very simple conservation farming method with an implementation management teaching, they help people to apply the Gospel to their lives.

Their desire is that through the life lesson of farming, they will help the vast masses of Africa and the developing world, who are dependent on the land, to faithfully use what they have been given to turn a profit and come out of poverty.  Click here for more.
