Bologna Initiative
Our Mission: The mission of the Bologna Ministry Initiative is to advance the kingdom of God in the city and province of Bologna, working together with like-minded churches and organizations in evangelism, discipleship and leadership development to establish reproducing churches.
Our Vision: We see evangelical churches coming into existence in Bologna and in the province of Bologna as a result of evangelism, small groups, and discipleship relationships. Many of the believers who are members of the New Life Church, the New Hope Church, and the other like-minded evangelical churches in the city of Bologna live in smaller cities outside of the city. This presents an incredible opportunity for the Bologna MI to encourage and help these churches form cell groups that will eventually become churches through:
- leadership development in the existing churches
- promoting the vision for these churches to reproduce themselves in other localities in the province
- working alongside the believers who live in cities such as Budrio, Molinella, Castelmaggiore, and Medicina to help them form cell groups that will later become churches
- bringing books and literature to strategic cities of the province with a book table in the open market
- evangelizing and discipling students at the university, many who come from cities in the province
- evangelism and Bible study in the local prison, and serving their families
- offering internship and hands on experiences to new TEAM missionaries, short term teams and other Christian workers in many types of ministry activities and aspects of church planting
Our Values:
Prayer: we are convinced that without prayer nothing of any lasting value will be possible, and therefore dedicate a major portion of our efforts in personal and corporate prayer for the souls of people and for God to glorify Himself in the city and province of Bologna.
Evangelism: we are actively bringing the Gospel message to people who are without a personal relationship to Christ who then can be channels to reaching others with the Gospel.
Vision: we want to inspire the believers and the churches with the vision of planting other churches so that people living in the province will be reached with the Gospel.
Coaching/Mentoring: we will use our skills and experience to train others and to be used of God to see His kingdom built in this area of Italy.
Collaboration: we value the gifts, experience, and resources that other like-minded organizations, churches and individuals working in Bologna can offer and desire to work together toward accomplishing the vision of planting evangelical churches in the city and province of Bologna.
Leadership development: we believe coaching and training gifted believers to have the necessary skills to be future leaders of cell groups and churches is a high priority.
