The National Counsel of French Evangelicals (CNEF) has set the goal of having one local church for every 10,000 inhabitants. There is currently one church for every 30,000. TEAM France envisions working alongside French partners to help reach this goal.
We work in close partnership with French church unions (including AEEI, France Mission and France pour Christ) to form church planting teams.
These teams live in the specific areas where they are planting churches. Often collaborating with neighboring churches or existing Bible studies, we establish a local vision for the church. According to the specific vision as well as the gifting and opportunities presented to the team, we launch evangelism and discipleship ministries.
In many circumstances, this looks like English classes, lifestyle and hospitality evangelism and discipleship, street and market evangelism, concerts, sports ministry, discovery Bible studies, and smaller life groups.
In France, cultural expectations put a priority on having a permanent meeting place.Often, new church groups start off renting a meeting space until they can afford to purchase one of their own.
While the church is growing, there is an emphasis on preaching, teaching, discipleship, mentoring and leadership development among maturing believers. Our goal is to see the church raise up its own leaders and develop its own ministries according to God’s leading. Ultimately, we want to see a healthy church that is capable of planting other churches.
