Immanuel Christ Church in Kobe (ICCK)

Our Mission & Ministry:

Our mission is to reach Japanese families with the gospel through the ministries of Immanuel Christ Church in Kobe (ICCK) using our gifts and abilities, including English and Bible teaching, music and preaching. Murray preaches once or twice per month at ICCK and its satellite location, a former preschool now called “Kohitsuji Chapel”. He also teaches kids’ English classes and leads a monthly Bible study for youth (high school and university students) at ICCK. We are actively involved in a “Good News Club” for kids at Kohitsuji Chapel where Murray teaches English and Bible lessons, and Kathy plays the piano. We also attend the monthly worship service there, where about 1/3 of attendees are unsaved seekers who attend due to a long-term ministry to local children. Kathy’s monthly ladies’ meeting at ICCK has been put on hold due to Covid.

Our Values:

We strive to be faithful witnesses for Jesus while serving in each of our spheres of influence. We make an effort to support and minister to Pastor Iwagami and his wife by reducing their ministry burden at ICCK as well as work closely with Mr. and Mrs.Tani at Kohitsuji Chapel.

Our Vision:

The vision through this partnership is to reach many Japanese families and to bring more souls to Christ through outreach ministries. A further vision is to see believers within the church be challenged to go deeper in their personal relationship with the Lord and to commit to becoming actively engaged in the Great Commission.
