Las Tablas/Sanchinarro, Madrid

Madrid, the third largest city of Europe has a population of more than 5 million people. Madrid is famous for late night “tapas”, bullfighting and flamenco, not to mention, its rich culture and history. It’s an exciting city to live in, yet behind the lights and activities, there is a lack of purpose and meaning. Madrid is needy for Christ followers to live out their faith as Jesus taught us, to be like a “city on a hill”.
Most Spaniards’ religious views have been buffeted by the Inquisition and the imposed faith of decades of dictatorship. Madrileños see little value or relevance to Christianity. In fact, few have seen a person truly dedicated to living as Christ did. Yet, to share something as personal as your faith, demands trust. Building bridges requires intentionally going out of our comfort zones and meeting people where they are, listening to their hopes and dreams and being sensitive to their needs. As we become part of their lives, our hope is that they experience God’s love, His forgiveness, and peace and know that He indeed does exist.
Would you consider joining us to plant a church along the northern edge of Madrid? Over 100,000 people live in four newly developed neighborhoods with no established evangelical church. We want to be the hands, feet, heart and voice of Jesus as we serve in our community, meeting needs and proclaiming Christ. Some possibilities:
- After school English classes at local schools
- Adult English classes
- Summer English camp,
- Developing relationships through sports (biking, basketball, padel ball)
- Singing in the local choir
Our focus at this stage is to build a healthy church that reflects Christ to the community. But in time we are certain that we will grow and that we will be part of the great mission of Jesus in other parts of the world.
