As we look to the day when the French church can stand on its own, TEAM France is working to discover, develop and empower leaders in the local church and parachurch ministries.

Ministry Focus:

God gives people gifts to be used for His mission to build up His Church. Through discipleship, we help people discover and identify the gifts God has given them. This can happen through a gifts inventory or more informally through conversations and experiences, such as service trips.

Once identified, it is important to create a situation where people can use their gifts and gain experience. People with gifts in communication need someone to accompany them in their experiences through coaching and feedback. Informal and formal training is very useful to those with leadership gifts.

We partner with French-speaking Bible institutes to offer internships for budding pastors. E-learning is also a useful training tool. The greatest way to help people develop their gifts is to offer mentoring situations where they can see someone else use similar gifts and imitate them while getting feedback.

TEAM also helps fund pastoral internships and new pastors’ salaries. Forming ministry teams with nationals provides a healthy, empowering environment of cooperation and encouragement. Empowering leaders also takes the form of member care. Continued counseling, coaching and spiritual formation are important for the wellbeing of leaders.
