MDM Kansai (Making Disciple-Makers Kansai)

Our Mission/Ministry :

Our mission is to build a discipling culture to make disciple-makers who are transformed to be and do like Jesus through committed relationships in huddles (a small group of 4-5 persons being discipled by a disciple), and multiply themselves by huddling others in turn, training leaders in missional communities which are extended family on mission as the vehicles for evangelism. The ministry focuses on discipling our huddle members while we all participate in missional communities. Our discipleship model is guided by scripture, the Holy Spirit, prayer, and trusted honest relationships in the huddle. We help members to grow in the character and skills Jesus lived out in the Gospels and help develop them as spiritual leaders who know how to spiritually invest in and spiritually lead others. After about 12-18 months of being discipled in a huddle and participating in a missional community with us, our disciples are encouraged to multiply and start their own missional discipleship huddles and continue in missional communities.

Our Values:

We desire to obey Jesus’ command to disciple all the nations of the world. We believe 3dmEurope (has now since decentralized across Europe; Cairnmovement is now the localized Scotland ministry) matches what we see in the New Testament – “make disciples of all the nations, teaching them to obey all I have commanded you,” making disciples in groups as Jesus did, not one by one. Being discipled in group missional discipleship to learn how to lead ourselves by listening to God’s voice to embrace the rhythms and patterns of His life on earth is Jesus’ way of discipling. Our ministry supports churches by making disciple-makers of their leaders, helps evangelism training through missional communities, attracts new people who wouldn’t be comfortable going to church but would come to a missional community of believers and non-believers, and equips church leaders for church planting in Japan and the nations of the world.

Our Vision:

We envision our discipled Christian leaders embracing Jesus’ rhythms and patterns of kingdom living, multiplying themselves by huddling other leaders, helping them launch missional Communities that reach out to the broken and hurting world with the life of Christ and equipping leaders for church planting. We envision it becoming a movement throughout Kansai, the rest of Japan, and to the nations of the world.
