Morrison Academy

“The vision of Morrison Academy is that every student will experience a quality, biblically-integrated education, so that each one will be equipped to impact the world dynamically for Christ.”
Morrison Academy is an international Christian school in Taiwan. It was established in 1952 to educate students in a distinctively Christian environment with a quality American education. Instruction is in English and is college preparatory in focus. Its dynamic learning environment paired with caring educators prepares students to be effective learners, moral and ethical citizens, and life-long learners. It is the school’s goal to equip the whole student, helping them to acquire the knowledge, discernment, and ability to dynamically impact the world. Morrison Academy is jointly accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Association of Christian Schools International.

Locations and services
Morrison Academy has three locations. The two locations in Kaohsiung and Taipei serve students from kindergarten through the ninth grade. Students who complete the ninth grade are able to continue their high school education on the Taichung Campus, where boarding facilities are provided for high schoolers from areas outside of Taichung. Morrison has operated several satellite schools in other areas of Taiwan for students through the sixth grade. Morrison also provides some services to missionaries in Taiwan who are home-schooling their children.
The TEAM connection
TEAM has been involved in Morrison Academy since its beginning. Because of TEAM’s status as a founding mission agency, TEAM missionaries fill two positions on the school board. Over the years, TEAM missionaries have continued to serve as teachers, staff and administrators in the Morrison system. Not only do all the children of our western missionaries attend Morrison for their education, but in recent years some of our Japanese missionary kids have been joining the school for high school.
Opportunities
Involvement at Morrison gives TEAM Taiwan a number of strategic opportunities. The first is providing education for the children of missionaries. What better way to provide support for our ministry area team than to make quality education available for their children? The Morrison student body is also made up of many children of Taiwanese businessmen and Taiwanese professionals. Working at Morrison is a great way to share the gospel with these families. Every year children and parents come to know Jesus through the ministry of Morrison Academy. Finally, working at Morrison provides income that helps subsidize the tuition costs of Morrison, once again allowing parents to concentrate on their own ministries in Taiwan.
