Beginning in 2003, the city of Vienna began making plans to develop the last large area of the city still available for development, the former Aspern Airfield.
After years of planning, the work to extend the U-2 subway line began in 2010 and the construction of the first building began in 2011.
Upon completion, this development will be home to 20,000 new residents and provide workplaces for 20,000 jobs with a new lake as the centerpiece.
With many new residents coming, many of whom have none or few connections with people in Vienna, the opportunity for getting to know them is created. We desire to be a help to them as they form their new lifestyles. We will seek to offer help in counselling, spiritual formation, and practical help as people move in and get settled.
