Ministry Focus:?
Young people are heavily influenced (being discipled) by secular instruction in their schools, humanistic ideologies through their peer groups and sensationalism from the media they consume.
We evangelize and disciple young people by being present and available. This can happen periodically, as in the case of a ski or summer camps, or on a regular basis, as in a Sunday school and weekly youth groups or kids’ clubs.
An important element of youth ministry is translating and applying Gospel truths into youth language and culture. Social media and the arts are becoming ever more important in this endeavor, yet the most effective way is the oldest one: mentoring.
Youth ministry is also done — or not — by parents. Reaching youth with the Gospel is a family affair. Coaching and mentoring young parents is a great way to reach out to their kids.
