Agribusiness and Ministry Apprentice

Description
The Agribusiness Apprentice will be mentored by long-term workers to gain a vision and understanding of the mission of using agribusiness to financially support cross-cultural ministry. The Apprentice will have ample opportunities to share the gospel and train up new believers through the everyday activities of the agricultural endeavors including a cattle ranch, coffee and orange trees, organic crops, and aquaponics.
The agricultural endeavors generate funds to be used for several different ministry efforts among these indigenous people in Southeast Asia. These include programs reaching and empowering women, children, and teens in small villages and discipling and training college students who are being trained as pastors and teachers in the largest Muslim country on earth. The duration of this role ranges from a minimum of 1 year to 3 years or more.
Responsibilities for the Agricultural Apprentice will include:
- Performing all duties with the intention of bringing someone alongside to train and equip national leaders in both the agricultural systems and the ministry efforts
- Maintaining systems for animal health and safety of team and animals
- Learning, maintaining, and improving the agribusiness
- Assisting the national leaders in researching best agricultural practices, operations improvement, and potential new undertakings
- Maintaining financial records
- Communicating ministry developments and needs to financial partners in the states
- Organizing ministry efforts and outreach
Requirements
- Agricultural and business background
- Self-starter with a desire to come alongside others and display Christlike work ethic
- Openness to long term ministry, commitment and follow through
- A strong personal walk with the Lord, willing to love people for where they are at and encourage others to grow and live in faith
- Strong leadership skills forged by experience, both practically for the agricultural side and spiritually for the ministry side
- Theologically founded and willing to hold team members accountable in their personal spiritual life and growth
- Excellent communication skills to relay activities on the field with church partners
