Arsenic Poison Prevention Program Team Member

Description

This area of South Asia suffers from the most severe case of arsenic poisoning in the world. Over 70% of the 7 million tube wells in the country contain arsenic. The vision of the Arsenic Poison Prevention Program is “everyone drinking water fit for life”.

To achieve this vision the program has four areas of work

  • Raising awareness of the dangers of arsenic
  • Tube well water testing for arsenic concentration
  • A remedial solution by way of a Household Arsenic Removal Filter
  • Arsenicosis Patient Treatment Program.

The duration of this role is 3 years or more.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree is required. Must have a passion to serve the poorest of the poor and a willingness to work in a low-tech environment. Must have the ability to live in urban but unpredictable conditions. Must be resilient, adaptable and able to work on a multi-cultural and multi-denominational team.
