Although counselors for this ministry initiative need to be able to do general counseling, (spiritual warfare, freedom in Christ, depression, family counseling, anxiety), the focus will be on preparing, debriefing, and counseling Portuguese and expatriate missionaries and national pastors in Portugal.
The objective is to equip Portuguese missionaries with the skills and resilience they need to thrive and not burn out in another culture and then be of service as they return back to their own country. The counseling center will also serve Portuguese pastors and expatriate missionaries in southern Europe and north Africa.
Counselors will also need to have the skills to conduct training seminars for a general audience as well as equipping others for the ministry of member care, counseling and leading support groups.
