Church Planter Among Migrants and Refugees

Description

The diaspora of migrants and workers has flooded many Southeast Asia nations. Many of these refugees and migrants struggle to navigate their new environment. Due to their “stateless” status, they are unable to secure paying jobs or education for their children. Opportunities to serve this population abound. Through teaching, relationships can be built within the various migrant communities opening the door for gospel sowing and church planting. Friendships can also be built through creative arts, sports, and other avenues including carpentry, accounting, mechanics or traditional classroom settings. Teachers for K-12 as well as those who have skills to share are needed for thousands of disadvantaged children and families. Teaching can be done in English.

Church planters have ample opportunity to engage school communities of refugee and migrant children to build relationships in order to evangelize, disciple, church plant, and holistically serve this population. Workers here will impact lives by building friendships, cultivating community development, and sharing the gospel with many unreached people groups who have had little access to the gospel. The duration of this role is a minimum of one year or more.

Requirements

• Willing to actively share the gospel and makes disciples
• Some teaching experience helpful, traditional school setting or in a trade or craft
• Ablilty to navigate potentially chaotic and vibrant classrooms
• Thrive in hot humid weather
• Heart to serve the disadvantaged
• Friendly, flexible, self-starter and team player
