Description
The Church Planting Adviser will come alongside existing church leadership in the interior of Papua to train, disciple, and equip through practical and theological training, holistic discipleship, and empowering leadership development. These efforts aim to embolden the church’s foundation on scripture and the centrality of the Gospel amidst tribal influences. The long term vision is to help believers in the interior jungle of Papua shore up their understanding of the Gospel and revitalize their churches and to see a mature, growing, vibrant national church, actively sending missionaries and passionate about reaching Indonesia.
This adviser will have an unwavering commitment to Scripture, a love for the church, and creative ministry ideas. Experience working in church ministry, empowering local leadership, and sparking a movement is helpful. A hardiness and ability to thrive in the remote and rustic jungle of Papua is a must. The duration of this role is a minimum of 8 years.
Requirements
- Minimum 30 credit hours of biblical training resulting in a certificate of ministry
- Bachelor’s degree in Bible is preferred
- Practical experience in church planting, evangelism, and discipleship
- Strong physical stamina, self-starter
