The Well of Joy Community Center is uniquely positioned to reach the community through English classes, computer education, sewing workshops, and other services. In Papua, community outreach is people focused. Building trust over time through authenticity, shared experiences, and honest intentions opens doors to deep gospel-oriented relationships.
The Community Outreach Coordinator will build deep relationships with Papuan people through the center using gifts in ESL, computers, or sports and recreation, as a platform to share the gospel and disciple others into a deeper relationship with Jesus. He or she will develop local leadership of the center and empower others to live in their full potential.
With a university campus near by, the community center has the potential to influence Papua’s leaders for Christ. The Community Outreach Coordinator will use a passion for recreational activities and for the gospel to impact a nation. This could be done through organizing futsal games, teaching people to sew clothing or items to sell, or simply practicing English. The ideal person for this role is outgoing, gregarious, and relational with a heart for evangelism and discipleship. The duration of this role is 3 years or more.
Requirements
- Strong biblical foundation
- Training in youth ministry and ESL is preferred
- Energetic, servant-hearted, flexible, innovative
- Ability to function well cross-culturally
