Opportunity in South Asia
Description
The Community Health and Development Program at a 150-bed hospital in rural South Asia is involved in a large number (usually over ten at any one time) of internationally-funded, development projects, mainly focused on the hospital’s core expertise in the area of mother and child health. An experienced development professional would provide project development, donor liaison, grant application writing, and project analysis. This role ranges from a minimum of 1 year up to 3+ years and provides the opportunity to partner with an international team of followers in one of the least-reached locations in South Asia.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor’s degree required. Must have previous experience in donor development and grant writing. Must have the passion to serve the poorest of the poor and a willingness to work in a low-tech environment. Ability to live in rural and unpredictable conditions required. Must be resilient and adaptable and able to work on a multi-cultural and multi-denominational team. Must be willing to engage in training local health workers as much or more than doing bedside care.
