Description:
The purpose of the Missionary Support Center (MSC) is to provide quality short-term housing (and some long-term housing) to missionaries working in Chad. The Guest House facility of the MSC welcomes about 300 individuals and families for over 2500 guest-nights per year and grosses over $23,000 in receipts. More importantly, the station is essential for caring for missionaries as they return from the bush, facilitating lodging and staging for visiting leadership, short-term, and long-term missions’ activities, and providing a conference center for mission gatherings.
Broadly, the responsibilities of the GM (guesthouse manager) can be divided into two 3 main categories: Housing Reservations and Hospitality, Facility Ambiance and Improvement, and Personnel Management.
- Housing Reservations and Hospitality responsibilities:
*Manage reservations (primarily via email)
*Verify room is ready for guest
*Be available to answer GH questions
*When possible be available to greet guests upon arrival
*Order or provide a meal for TEAM global workers upon arrival from a ministry area or out of the country
*Periodically receive and enter payments into books - Facility Ambiance and Improvement responsibilities:
*Manage and order supplies and furnishings
*Be aware of what needs to be fixed or replaced in guest rooms
*General monitoring or room and ground maintenance - Personal Management responsibilities:
*Manage GH cleaning staff
