Physical Therapist

Opportunity in East Asia

Description

Join a nonprofit organization in North Asia that seeks to be a part of economic and spiritual development by shining the light of Christ through the utilization of our professional skills. Our organization works in partnership with local government and other groups in medical, agricultural, educational, consulting, and other public health benefit programs.

Rehabilitation professionals are needed to work with a group of 3-12 year old orphans with severe intellectual and physical disabilities.

The work of the physical therapists includes reviewing each child’s physical therapy plan: assessing the child’s progress over the previous 6 months, altering their physical therapy plan to reflect any improvements or needed shift in focus. The carers then need to be trained on how to implement the physical therapy regime. Wider training to the orphanage staff are also required.

This opportunity is typically for two weeks every year, available in both March and September.

Certified physical therapist. Preferably a pediatric physical therapist with specialization or at least experience in disability. Some Mandarin would be ideal.

We accomplish this through medical, agricultural, educational, consulting, and other public benefit programs in partnership with local government and other groups.
