Professor of Theology
Opportunity in Southeast Asia
Description
A Christian college in Southeast Asia educates more than 2,000 Christians studying to be pastors and Christian leaders. This specific city is located in the heart of a Christianized community of believers in God, but many do not know they can have a personal, thriving relationship with God.
The Professor of Theology will teach theology and discipleship courses focused on engaging the heart and the head, to see students develop deep, rich relationships with Jesus. Using the classroom to create disciples, the Professor of Christian Theology will have an outgoing leadership style that inspires evangelistic hearts in those they teach and disciple.
Responsibilities include teaching theology and English classes, mentoring students and staff, and working with a national organization to create a curriculum for training and discipleship of Christian leaders. This person will encourage missional living in national students and staff and help them see how to reach the unreached around them. The long term vision is to see the local church become true places of worship, with a heart and habit of missional outreach to other like-minded villages and to the surrounding unreached people groups. There are nearly 240 million unreached peoples in the surrounding areas. The duration of this role ranges from a minimum of 1 year to 3 years or more.
Requirements
- At least a Master’s level of theological education
- Outgoing, willing to be a self-starter in developing relationships with students and staff
- Ability to easily share their personal growth and relationship with Christ and encourage others to grow in their faith
- An engaging teaching style, encouraging a deeper, richer personal faith walk in their students rather than just Biblical facts
