Refugee Ministry Short-termers with Helping Hands serve refugees from the Middle East through hospitality, friendship evangelism, and teaching. The current programs of Helping Hands serve as an introduction for building deep and lasting relationships over tea and cookies, through children’s programs, and learning a language together. The weekly community meal for refugee families at Helping Hands fosters relationships and spiritual conversations as refugees have a safe place to share their experiences, struggles, hopes, and dreams. Short-termers help prepare, cook, and clean for this weekly meal to serve some of the most vulnerable, not only through good food but also through creating a space to enjoy one another and hear about the Good News of Jesus. Helping Hands offers English and Greek classes to refugees. Knowing these languages can help refugees navigate their time in Greece. These language classes spark great conversations and relationships as volunteers share their stories and the hope they have in Christ. Short-termers can teach English or Greek classes two to three times a week. Helping Hands also has a small medical room to address basic healthcare needs. Folks with a medical background are welcome to come help address healthcare needs for refugees. Find out more information at https://www.helpinghands.gr/en.
