Special Education Teachers

Opportunity in South America

Description

This opportunity is with TEAM’s ministry partner South America Mission (SAM), an evangelical and interdenominational mission organization with a vision to see the church of Jesus Christ multiplied across South America, transforming local communities and the world by embodying the kingdom of God. SAM works in five countries in South America: Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, and Paraguay. SAM’s missional emphases include incarnational living, reproducing authentic disciples of Jesus, multiplying churches and church networks, training Godly leaders, and enabling transformational initiatives within the local church.

Special Education Teachers at Santa Cruz Christian Learning Center (SCCLC) will be responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating appropriate individualized educational services, learning programs, and instruction for special needs students in both self-contained and integrated settings in consultation with other school personnel. SCCLC is a Pre-K – 12th-grade school following the American school system. The duration of this role is from 9 months to 2 years in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

At SCCLC, future leaders receive a comprehensive and multilingual Christian education that exceeds national and international academic standards, preparing its students spiritually, academically, and socially to transform their world. With less than 250 students, approx. 80% of whom are Bolivian nationals, SCCLC creates a relaxed and intimate educational environment, giving staff and faculty the opportunity to engage Bolivia’s next generation of leaders at a personal level, and affect substantive change in one of South America’s least developed nations.
