Description
Vocational training is a basic necessity for improving the future prospects of the new generation in a densely populated South Asian city. Skills training is essential for upgrading the prospects of the individual and thereby of the workforce. In five centers around the country, a variety of vocational training opportunities are provided. Computer training in English and national language word processing, Excel, photo editing, and internet usage is now basic to any office employment. Tailoring of women’s and men’s clothing can provide personal income or open a door to higher level employment in the garments industry. Electrical, refrigeration and air-conditioning skills can be applied in nearly every home and office around the country. In particular, there is a need at one of the technical training centers for someone to advise in the development of the curriculum and ensuring that the program makes use of up-to-date information and technology. The duration of this role ranges from 9 months up to 3 years or more.
Requirements
Bachelors degree required. Technical expertise is required. Must have the passion to serve the poorest of the poor. Ability to live in urban and unpredictable conditions required. Must be resilient and adaptable and able to work on a multi-cultural and multi-denomination team.
