Youth Leadership Trainer
Opportunity in Southern Africa
Description
Do you want to shape the future? Do you want to redirect the course of a nation and shape the character of its youth? Over 50% of the population of southern Africa is under the age of 24. One denomination has targeted youth as a key area to invest in by training the youth leaders in all of its churches spread across Swaziland, South Africa, Mozambique and Lesotho. The denomination has asked TEAM to help them find people to mentor and disciple their youth leaders as well as run workshops for churches. An additional aspect of this work could be character-based abstinence training, which has the potential to impact the HIV/AIDS pandemic as well.
If you have training and experience in youth ministry and are a culturally sensitive person who could translate that experience into the southern African context, the opportunities are endless for training and mentoring. The work would begin in Swaziland and KwaZulu Natal, but could spread to other areas as well. You would need to be willing to take the initiative in forming relationships and planning workshops. You would also need to come as a learner in order to contextualize principles into the southern African setting.
