I was born and raised in Japan of missionary parents, and have spent most of my adult life in Christian camping, church planting, and family ministry in Japan. I have a B.A. from Wheaton College, an M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and an honorary Doctor of Divinity from the Pacific International Theological Seminary. I have been married to Katie since 1980, and have five adult children and three grandchildren. I co-founded Family Forum Japan in 1996 and served as its director for 10 years, doing lectures and seminars throughout Japan on parenting, marriage, and sexuality. I currently continue speaking and writing on behalf of Family Forum Japan, while serving as its associate director. I am the author of “Biblical Answers for Struggling Marriages”. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, camping, and carpentry.
I oversee educational outreach and content at Family Forum Japan. This includes doing lectures and leading seminars on marriage, parenting, biblical sexuality, and other family issues. I am currently focused on Family Forum Japan’s ministry to families in the disaster areas of northeast Japan, which were hit by the 2011 earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear power plant meltdown.
Primary Prayer Request:
For the ability to understand and extend the love of Christ to disaster victims in northeast Japan.
