My desire is to serve through ministry, discipleship, and strengthening the church.
Several years ago, I fell in love with taking French as a language. I immediately knew that I wanted to use French. In 2017, I went on a short-term missions trip to two cities in France to partner with local churches in hosting a summer Bible camp. While there, God opened my heart to the desperate need for laborers to tell these people about the good news. I saw the absolute confusion in the children’s eyes when the name “Jesus” was mentioned. I saw their dismay when we had to explain Christ’s death and hear their cheers when we explained that He is risen. It was at that time that God placed the desire on my heart to “go throughout the world and preach the good news to all creation”.
France is very spiritually desolate, with less than one percent of the population being confessing evangelical Christians. Each day, millions of people live their lives without ever knowing even the basics of the gospel.
Since that pivotal summer, I began to prayerfully and intentionally seek ways to be faithful to that calling in France. As I spoke with many people, churches, and missionaries, I was connected with TEAM missionaries who shared about their experiences and their need for helpers in their churches. I soon began the process of applying to work with TEAM. During this time, I was connected to a church in Lyon, France. Lyon is one of France’s largest cities, located to the east near Switzerland. Lord willing, I will be able to serve there as a church intern. The Lyon church supports several ministries that I will be able to be to join and serve.
