For years I have felt the Lord preparing my heart to serve Him cross-culturally. Even in High school as I studied French for four years, I began to pray about using the language to reach the people group. The more that I studied, and learned of the nation’s post-Christian, humanistic state, the more I desired to leave the comfort of familiarity to evangelize, counsel, and make disciples.
After high school, I entered university as a Psychology major. After just one year, I felt the Lord pulling me to simply study the Word, serve others, and grow in mission work. So, I left California, and study Theology and Ministry at a small Bible College in York, UK. The Lord not only grew my identity in Him but also increased my love for His unchanging Word, and gave me a greater desire to spread the gospel. During my time in Bible college, also became more aware of my natural tendency to counsel others. I desired to refine and grow in this skill, so after graduating Bible College, I studied at The Master’s University. After 2 1/2 years I completed a degree in Biblical Counseling, knowing my next season would be to pursue long-term mission work.
France is a nation with a culture which is idealized and glorified by probably most of the world. In the midst of beauty is a deep brokenness. It is defined as a post-Christian nation, where religion has such a sharp connotation of hypocrisy and pain. The majority of the nation now lives in a profound secularism.
The country comprised not only of French nationals, but also a great inpouring of Middle Eastern populations. There is so much opportunity to spread the gospel to a variety of people groups, living within one nation.
My role in Nantes will center around:
- Cultivating a discipleship group among college-aged ladies.
- Helping plant a church in Nantes.
- Evangelism in Nantes and the surrounding areas.
- Outreaches formed through the relationships established in the community and through the community of college students.
My passions are to see the transforming work of the gospel in a person’s life. I love to witness the redemptive and restorative work of God’s hands.
I would be incredibly grateful for any prayer and financial support.
Your sister in Christ,
