My Story

I grew up in a small village in the Southern part of the Netherlands, close to the Belgium border. Being raised in an American/Japanese household, I was exposed to three cultures and multiple languages from a young age, having a particular interest in my Japanese roots and culture. After attending college at Utrecht University I joined Youth With A Mission for a year and a half, ministering in Thailand, India, Taiwan and Japan. Six months later I moved to Colorado to pursue an M.Div with a concentration in Soul Care at Denver Seminary. There I met my husband and we have enjoyed our life together in Sunny Colorado. Apart from my work with TEAM, I am a certified Ignatian spiritual director and a private tutor in Japanese and Dutch. My husband and I love traveling and trying new cuisines from around the world, as well as worshiping, theology, art and languages.

I’m particularly grateful to be part of TEAM, because my mother came to faith in Japan through three TEAM missionaries. It is exciting to work for an organization that has been so influential to my family’s salvation.
