My Story

While I was studying at university God drew my heart to pursue vocational ministry. After graduating I joined a seminary which provided practical pastoral training and biblical counseling training while taking classes. It was through our missions class that I learned of the deep societal and emotional difficulties facing the people of Japan. I couldn’t imagine facing issues such as severe social anxiety (hikikomori), depression, and suicidal thoughts without the good news of Jesus (the second largest unreached people group is the Japanese). God used this to draw my heart to desire partner with TEAM, who has been ministering in Japan for over 100 years, to be part of the hands and feet of God in Japan.

Ministry Focus

I will be serving God in Tokyo Japan at the Sonrise café. This will provide many opportunities to interact with locals and develop relationships that will serve as a good foundation for the gospel. I will also have the joy of teaching one-on-one conversational English to those in Tokyo who are looking forward to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo which will provide even more gospel conversations. As I receive training in Japanese and learn the culture I hope to use opportunities to help address some of the deep societal struggles with the good news of the gospel.

Primary Prayer Request

Pray that God would provide the funds needed to head to Japan and participate in God’s ministry there. Pray for wisdom for how to best present the gospel in very hard soil. Pray for strength to persevere. And most importantly, pray that God would soften the hearts of the people in Japan to the good news of His gospel and would work through the workers there to draw many to His name.
