My Story

Hello! My name is Jordan and I am a recent college graduate from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. I graduated with a BS in Exercise Science and a minor in Parks and Recreation.

God first called me to international missions through an internship at Crossroads Church. I worked with international students who were working at the oceanfront for the summer. I enjoyed my time as an intern, but I felt called to go to the mission field. Our church did a trip to Rancho El Camino in La Paz, Mexico in January 2017. I fell in love with the place and the people when I was there and I felt God calling me back to the ranch for the summer internship.

The summer internship at Rancho El Camino was six weeks long. These were the BEST weeks of my life. I learned so much about cross-cultural ministry and about the needs of the ranch. After coming home, I thought I was going to graduate school, but God had other plans for me and called me back to the ranch for at least three years.

I’m excited to go back to Rancho El Camino and I am SO thankful for the support of family and friends!

Ministry Focus:

During the first several months of living in Mexico, I will be taking language and culture classes, so that I will be able to more effectively do the ministry God has called me to. During this time of learning, I will be participating in regular ranch ministries, including: kids club, community development initiatives, and training programs.

My vision is to develop relationships with at-risk teenage girls from the community. These girls are at-risk for physical, mental, and sexual abuse. They are also at risk for drug and alcohol addiction, as well as gang violence. Another risk for these teenage girls is human trafficking. Many of the girls who are at-risk have dropped out of school and do not have jobs. My goal is to work with these girls to help them get their education through a GED-like program. Through this, I am hoping to build relationships with these girls and share the Gospel with them. My hope is that they will each know they are loved by their Heavenly Father and they can place their trust in Him completely.

The People:

One of the reasons I am so excited to be going back to Rancho El Camino is because of the people. I love all of the staff that live and work on the ranch, and I can’t wait to partner with them in ministry. I also love people within the community that we work in. I have been blessed to meet many kids and a few families from the neighborhoods we work in and they are the sweetest people I know! I’m excited to continue growing in these relationships, but I am also excited to develop new relationships with people I meet!

Primary Prayer Request:

Please pray for me as I transition from living in the US to living in Mexico. Also, pray for the people I will be joining at the ranch and the individuals in the community I will have the opportunity to meet!
