I was raised as a TEAM MK in the Rep. of South Africa until the age of 15 yrs, at which time we came to the US for Dad to work in the Headquarters of the mission. I finished HS in Wheaton, IL and then attended nurses’ training. I then went on to complete a BA in History and Secondary Education at Wheaton College. I served for 5 months as a short-termer with TEAM in Zimbabwe-Rhodesia while I was still in college and during that time of service, God confirmed His call on my life which I had answered during a Youth Rally when I was 14 yrs of age. Due to this confirmation, after graduation from college, I went on to study and receive my MA in English Bible and Missions from Columbia International University.
I met my husband, Ray Williams, during that time of study and we were married in 1978 , had our first daughter in 1982, graduated from Seminary in 1983 and went to serve God in church planting in Zimbabwe in 1984. Our 2 other daughters were born into our family in Zimbabwe. After 7 years in a variety of ministries (church planting and administrative) our visa was denied.
The Lord then led us to minister in administration and church ministries in the United Arab Emirates. We served in various capacities for 6 years and then God opened up a new opportunity to be more directly church focused in the ministry in Australia.
God then moved us to Australia where we served for 17 years in the areas of church planting and leadership development, as well as preaching and teaching in churches, camps, workshops and seminars. I also developed and taught the curriculum for a Women’s Ministry Stream at Adelaide College of Ministries.
I also served as the Pastor of Women and Life Groups at Edwardstown Baptist Church for 7 years during which time I initiated and built up a Women’s Ministry, as well as developed dynamic Life Groups in which men and women had the opportunity to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
In September, 2017 God moved us back to the US where I have been given a role as the Director of Diversity and Women’s Initiatives for TEAM. In this role, I have the responsibility to raise up women and minorities for positions of leadership in TEAM.
Husband: Ray Williams Daughters: Andrea (’82 – Evan), Leanne (’86 – Tristan) Pamela (’88)
Facilitating women and minorities to access mentoring and training to prepare them to bring their specific, unique contributions to leadership in TEAM, for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.
It is my privilege to come alongside women and minorities and to be a facilitator for helping them get training, finding a mentor and being able to move into leadership positions to bring a richer perspective and approach to the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.
It is also my privilege to help men realize their opportunity to empower women and to be “door openers” for women such that they are able to get opportunities to bring their perspective into leadership in TEAM.
Primary Prayer Request
That I would have God’s wisdom and discernment to know how to encourage and empower both women and minorities to step up with confidence in their God-given gifting into roles of leadership to the benefit of God’s Kingdom.
