Martin Gonzalez

My Story

Martin was born and raised in the Chicago area. He received Christ through the ministry of Young Life in High School. He graduated from Arizona State University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He married Susie Ryther in 1983. After a few years of marriage, they moved back to Chicago so Martin could attend Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. They joined TEAM in 1990 and went to La Paz, Mexico as church planters. Martin also completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from Phoenix Seminary.

In Mexico they joined TEAM missionaries Steve and Lois Dresselhaus and helped start two churches. Martin served as co-pastor of both churches. Later, Martin and Susie started their current church, el Faro. Martin is currently Senior Director for Ministries for Mexico and Central America.

Martin and Susie have three children. In addition to being passionate about the church, Martin enjoys guitar, woodworking and Vintage electronics.
