Matthew Sheers

My Story

I was a TEAM MK and grew up in Colombia, South America. I was partially home schooled and partially educated at Christiansen Academy, a TEAM boarding school for MKs in Venezuela. Later while attending Bible college I met Sandy, who was to be my wife. I went on to study Accounting and Taxation. Sandy and I are empty nesters and have four grown children, one granddaughter. We live in Parker, Colorado, a suburb just south of Denver. We are actively involved in leadership at Southeast Christian Church, a local Christian school, and SECOR, a local foodbank.

I had started working for Big 8 public accounting firms right after college. My specialty was international taxation, which seemed like a natural fit for an MK named after a tax collector. I later worked in industry for AT&T, NCR, Teradata, and Dish Network in various tax roles. I’ve been running tax departments in large corporate environments for the past 16 years before coming to TEAM. While serving as a Board member at TEAM, I had wanted to take a more hands on role in implementing God’s special vision for TEAM. I am excited to be part of that process.
