RETIREE-Mark Johnson

My Story:

After being raised in Wisconsin, both parents died when I was 23 and I raised a younger brother and sister. That experience led me to commit myself completely to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I graduated in 1975 from the University of Wisconsin with a B.A. in business, then Wheaton College in 1985 with a Masters in Intercultural Communication. Between degrees I worked for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company as a consultant in the Marketing (Agency) Department. Our home church is Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin, where I served as deacon in the singles and men’s ministries before being sent as a missionary. My wife, Kay, and I met in a singles Bible study that I led. We formed part of a team that planted a church in Caracas, Venezuela, before moving to Madrid, Spain. There we planted a church with a team on the east side of Madrid before moving to our present location on the west side of Madrid, where we are starting a church in the town of Arroyomolinos working with Spaniards and other nationalities.
