13 Opportunities
Since 2000, Zimbabwe’s economy has contracted significantly leading to new levels of unemployment and hardship. Add to that times of regional drought and the lingering effects of the HIV/AIDs pandemic and it is not difficult to understand that the Zimbabwean church has huge opportunities to minister. Through initiatives like ANESU and well regarded institutions like the Harare Theological College and the Karanda Mission Hospital, TEAM works to equip and complement the church as it reaches out to people in need with the transformational message and compassionate demonstration of the Gospel of Christ.
View OpportunitiesIndependent since 1980, Zimbabwe has enjoyed periods of growth and prosperity and has suffered though numerous crises. With the people reeling from political instability, severe economic hardships and other realities such as the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS, massive unemployment and broken systems, one might be inclined to view the country in terms of pain and brokenness. This, however, would be an incomplete picture.
Meet the people of Zimbabwe and you will hear moving stories of hardship but you will also find stirring examples of warmth, resilience, vision, initiative and mercy. Into this situation, TEAM missionaries have the privilege of playing a part in equipping church leadership, demonstrating the love of Christ and together with the church, striving to reconcile individuals and communities with each other, with creation and with their Creator.
