I am a farm boy from central Illinois. My childhood was spent in cattle barns and corn fields. In school I participated in football (it was a very small school), track and band. I remember going down to the band room after school to bug the band director for a lesson while I waited for my mom to finish her work as a teacher. Those after school lessons led me to study instrumental music in college. While at school, I first heard the claims that Christ had on my life. It took a while but the promise in John 1:12 “he gave the right to become children of God” prompted me to trust Christ with my life. I was blessed with Christians who spent time with me and helped me grow in my new faith.
After college I worked for 15 years with middle school bands and for 9 years as a data processor for an insurance company. Through missionaries who stayed in our house, I learned about schools for the children of missionaries. In the year 2000 Peg and I moved to Kandern, Germany to teach at the Black Forest Academy (BFA). The time since has been filled with various math and computer classes and helping with instrumental lessons. We have been thrilled to be class sponsors with 3 different classes while at BFA. Germany is a long way from the small town Illinois farm community however it is a privilege to partner with missionary families who are working in many different parts of the world.
